What We’re Into Now

Check in monthly to see what we’re into at the moment. Everything from books, to recipes, podcasts and so much more.

Instant Pot

instant pot

The Instant Pot is a multi-use kitchen appliance designed to consolidate the cooking and preparing of food into one device. This programmable pressure cooker speeds up (and slows down! It even has a slow cooker feature!!) cooking by 2~10 times all while using up to 70% less energy. The Instant Pot is my Go-To when meal prepping nutritious and healthy food for the week.

Yummly

Yummly is the smart cooking sidekick (there’s a website and app!) that learns what you like and customizes the experience to your personal tastes, nutritional needs, skill level, and more! I love using the Yummly app to come up with recipes for meal prep for the week. It’s super easy to navigate and you can save all your recipes into folders and even create grocery lists from the ones you’ve decided to cook!

Ketogenic Diet

We have never done a keto diet. However, it’s been gaining momentum over the past year or so. We’re both super interested in it but don’t know if we can give up those donuts just yet. That doesn’t mean we can’t do some research and learn more about it. Here are some articles that we have found interesting.

Brain FM

Have trouble focusing? Have trouble relaxing? Have trouble sleeping? Brain FM is here to the rescue and can solve all of those problems. We’re still only in the beginning stages of our relationship with Brain FM (free trial of 10 sessions) but the concept is so interesting.

Music designed for the brain to enhance focus, relaxation, meditation, naps or sleep within 10 – 15 minutes of use.

Mindpump Radio

3 guys out in the west coast sharing tons of years of experience in the fitness industry with all of their listeners. From the easy questions to the controversial questions, these guys tackle it all. They’re not afraid to be honest and they never sugar coat anything. Tons of knowledge to be had just for tuning in during your commute to work.

Skinny Taste

Gina Homolka manages to take the calories out of meal favorites without sacrificing any of the flavor. Skinny Taste has been our ‘Go To’ on the weekends when we want to try a new recipe but want to make sure we’re staying in track. Her website is easy to navigate and the recipes are easily categorized for every dietary need: vegetarian, paleo, gluten free, low carb, etc..
